After doing some research on abi.org, it has come to my attention that although Donald Trump has never filed for personal bankruptcy, he has most definitely filed for business bankruptcy on account of four times, at least. He has argued that in business, you have to file for bankruptcy and that it was for financial reasons. He even did some research and said that other companies have done the same thing.
I chose this political meme because it is humorous as well. It pokes fun at even though he has filed for bankruptcy four times in the past fifteen years, people are going to elect him anyway! Although that doesn’t seem to be fully true. Although it’s not a complete lie. Donald Trump has indeed filed for bankruptcy four times; the Trump Taj Mahal in 1991, Trump Plaza Hotel in 1992, Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts in 2004 and Trump Entertainment Resorts in 2009. I think this shows the reason as to why this meme has been created and shared because of course everyone has their own political views and this just shows the truth about someone who people support to run our country.
I found all of these facts by googling “did Donald Trump file for bankruptcy” and I clicked on the first link I found which ended up being pretty reliable. It is hard to find reliable websites about important political facts like this. What I found while researching to back up this meme is accurate because I found specific dates and times that Trump had filed for bankruptcy so it is clearly true. There is nowhere that it says he didn’t do it, there is no denying that and I think Donald Trump would own up to it as he has in the past.
All of the bankruptcy’s were filed as chapter 11 which is used most often for business filing bankruptcy. Chapter 11 allows a business that struggles financially to reorganize so they can move on. It can possibly authorize a business owner in order to avoid closing down the company. Some might say that Chapter 11 bankruptcy is a good thing for business because it makes sure that the business is not run poorly. Donald Trump’s Chapter 11 bankruptcies were a result of his struggles within his business in which was out of his control.
